Latest updates from Innovation House Magnolia, USA
We finished the renovations by June 1st, we filled the house up with company friends and workers, plus some of their family. We bought kayaks and a canoe and a paddle board. We added desks to every room to enable guests to work from them or visitors to pick one to work from if they are not occupied. We have a lovely Innovation House flag blowing in the sea breeze. We have more traditional office work space for 16 rigged up too.
We added a new air conditioning system , and upgraded the plumbing to be able to accommodate a full house. We have added a fire alarm system and we have put in some new flooring and some new furniture to make it possible to have meetings gatherings and visitors.
Our aim is still to be here for our American friends, our start-ups from IH in Iceland, and from Start up labs in Norway, and of course, other places in the world. Some have been here already and will continue to visit.
We have companies coming for team gatherings and we have some guests coming from Iceland working on maritime projects to meet with similar companies here in Gloucester to see how they can work together. We have our in house Start-up www.ovathebridge.com focusing on the local businesses and with their many members in this area helping us to get acquainted.
The Innovation house is once again white and we also painted the chimneys white with a black stripe at the top, this being in line with the history from this area that used such painting of the chimney’s to signify to the slaves on the run that it was a “safe- house “. We have done our renovations with the admiration of the history of the grand house, we have added some modernizations but we have kept and intend to maintain the original style.
