Rafíþróttafélagið develops a framework for breaking down competitive games into coachable components and develop drills, training scenarios and educational material to be delivered in person by a coach.
This is accompanied by training methodology and structure that combines gaming, physical activity and socially stimulating games. All of this can be adopted and taught by anyone with access to a facility with 10 or more computers.

Icelandic music tech company Genki Instruments, one of the startups at Innovation House Reykjavik ships Wave, it’s debut product
Great news! Icelandic music tech company Genki Instruments, one of the startups at Innovation House Reykjavik ships Wave, it’s debut product. Wave is the ring that lets you control sound with motion.
Wave is the ring that lets you control sound with motion. First shown to the world as a rough prototype at NAMM 2018, Wave by Genki Instruments caught the eyes of attendees and media alike (Reuters, Synthtopia) for it’s unique properties and innovative technology.
Wave allows musicians to easily control sound, shape effects or send commands using gestures. With three accessible buttons, users are in full control and can turn the ring on or off as well as change sounds, parameters and effects without having to go back to the computer. Due to it’s design musicians never have to take their hands off their instrument while using Wave, and using Wave on top off the instruments adds another layer of creativity to it. Welcome to Innovation House Guðmundur Ari!
Hello everyone!
My name is Guðmundur Ari but everyone calls me Ari. I am the CEO of LifeQuest which just moved into the Innovation House. I am a former handball champion in kids division, I am a Youth Worker and I love pizza. I am also a member of Seltjarnarnes town council so if you have any good ideas for our municipality please feel free to contact me.
LifeQuest is a new social enterprise we just founded this summer but it is a product of an Erasmus+ Innovation partnership between Icelandic, Swedish and Finnish organizations of youth workers. Our company is creating an mobile app to gamify participation and validation of non-formal education in Youth Work. Our app creates a community for each organization where the youth worker adds his youngsters and they get the app in their smart devices. All the tasks, projects and groups available in the organization is then added to the app and the user can collect XP points by participating, receive badges for finishing quests and milestones and work together to receive trophies. The youngsters don´t change their behavior they just keep being active participants in their fun activities but mark when they participate or finish a task in the app and receive their rewards. The youth worker, organizations and municipalities receive a lot of data on participation and participants in their work and the youngsters start to see that while they are “just having fun” in the youth work they are actually collecting a lot of experience, skills and knowledge which they can then put on school or work applications for example.
Stokkur is working with us on programming the application which will launch this autumn and we will have a presentation on the project here in the Innovation house at the 22. of August between 17 and 19 and you are of course all invited. Maybe we will create a LifeQuest community for the Innovation house one day where participation, socializing and other healthy habits get rewarded.
Until then please feel free to follow our Facebook like page and of course just talk to me over coffee. We are new in this innovation business and we need all the mentoring possible to make our company sustainable and to be able to make a real impact on the Youth Work sector in the world!
