Team Dohop workshop at the Magnolia Innovation House in November. Dohop is the technology company behind the Dohop flight search engine. Founded in Iceland in 2004, our strength is the ability to compile airline schedules into a network which allows us to build and book unique itineraries. We run Dohop.com, the winner of 2016 World Travel Awards where our users can leverage our technology to find cheap flights, hotels and cars. We also supply airfares to the Russian search giant Yandex for Eastern-European travelers.
In 2015 Dohop was approached by Gatwick Airport which had noticed that passengers were self-connecting (i.e. manually booking two separate tickets) through the airport. Gatwick thought that Dohop’s booking technology combined with their on-site support desk would greatly benefit these passengers as they wouldn’t need to self connect anymore – they would virtually interline and have their flight connection protected by Gatwick (self-connecting passengers are more exposed to flight disruptions). Launched in the fall of 2015, GatwickConnects caught the attention of big airlines who sought out to extend their own network reach. Dohop and easyJet embarked on a joint project named Worldwide by easyJet where we build and book unique itineraries between easyJet and it’s partners. Worldwide by easyJet was developed and launched this summer and is accessible on easyjet.com. We are very grateful to have been invited to stay and work at the Innovation House in Magnolia.
